Web Access Management for Apache: Cams Apache 2.4 Event Web Agent Ships

SAN DIEGO - Aug. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- San Diego, CA, August 13, 2014 - Cafésoft announced today that it has released Cams web access management system agent support for the Apache 2.4 Event Multi-Processing Module (MPM) web server. This new Cams Apache 2.4 web agent enhances Cafésoft's industry leading web single sign-on support for open source and commercial web and application servers, which includes Apache, IIS, IBM WebSphere, JBoss, Oracle WebLogic, Tomcat, and more.

"We have started to see customer demand for the Apache 2.4 event MPM architecture and expect that trend to continue," said Norbert Kuhnert, Cafésoft Founder and CTO. "Since the initial release of Cams, we have strived to provide best-of-class web single sign-on support for popular open source web and application servers such as Apache and Tomcat. The new Cams Apache 2.4 MPM event web agent shows that we plan to maintain our leadership role."

The Cams Apache 2.4 Event web agent is packaged for use with Cams 3.2, the latest release of Cams. The new Cams web agent is available for immediate download from the Cafésoft site with support for Linux 64-bit operating systems.

Cams makes web sites more secure and manageable by centralizing web application security policy decisions and management, rather than implementing security within web applications and web servers. This centralized approach to web access management enables companies to reduce development and administration time, complexity and costs, while improving time-to-market, site security and software life-cycle flexibility.

The Cams service oriented architecture provides the security middleware foundation to easily deploy customized solutions into heterogeneous environments. The lightweight Cams policy server is easy-to-install and configure and scales to meet the requirements of large enterprise sites. Cams virtual directory facilitates integration with one more user directories, including Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP servers, SQL databases and more. Other product features include:

o Web single sign-on to web and J2EE application servers
o Access control based on roles (RBAC), HTTP query parameters, database values, date/time, location and custom rules
o Simplified and centralized security policy administration
o Security event logging, analysis and real-time notification
o Flexible customizations via open APIs
o Cross-platform server support including Windows, Linux and Solaris

Fully supported Cams and Cams Identity evaluation licenses, which include access to the production products, are available for 30 days upon request.
