Commonwealth National Bank Welcomes Newest Board Member

MOBILE, Ala. - Aug. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- Commonwealth National Bank (CNB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathy C. Dunning to its Board of Directors.

Ms. Dunning is the chair of the University of Mobile's Accounting Department and an Assistant Professor of Accounting. She is also a certified management accountant, and is certified in financial management. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Alabama and a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of South Alabama. She has taught accounting at the university level for more than 20 years, and is currently pursuing doctoral studies in accounting.

Ms. Dunning's impressive background includes membership in the Gulf Coast Chapter of Certified Fraud Examiners and in the Institute of Management Accountants. She serves as a Quality Examiner for Alabama Performance Excellence, advising various organizations on the application of Baldrige Quality procedures for their operational improvement. Her community service includes serving on the Board of Trustees for the Foundation of the First Baptist Church of Mobile and on the Catholic Social Services Board. Mrs. Dunning is also an advocate of the Meals on Wheels program, where she delivers meals to seniors on a regular basis.

Her appointment makes her the ninth member of an already strong Board of Directors for CNB, says Board Chairman Gary Cooper.

Ms. Dunning is married to Douglas Dunning, a local attorney, and they have two grown children.
