Your Sisterfriends, a Multicultural Team of Women, Launch National Tour to Empower Women

African-American, Hispanic/Latino, Caucasian, and Asian Women Unite to Strengthen Communities by Strengthening Women

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Aug. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Your Sisterfriends plan to launch a national women’s empowerment tour to help women build their self-confidence, self-esteem, and walk in their passion and purpose. By building a network of sisterhood, support and resources across the country, Your Sisterfriends seek to strengthen and build communities by strengthening women and inspiring them to achieve their greatest potential.

“Regardless of race and ethnicity, women share a very special bond. We share commonalities and experiences that bond us like sisters and friendships that carry us through difficult times and lifts us to soaring heights,” says Linh Ta, president of OCA Columbus and board member of the national

Made up of women from various ethnic backgrounds, including African American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, and Caucasian, Your Sisterfriends is not just another social club for women, it’s a MOVEMENT. A movement empowering women, celebrating diversity, and promoting sisterhood. So often the view of sisterhood and friendship is distorted by the negativity we see through social media and reality television. Women often see other women as competition and adversaries instead of allies. Your Sisterfriends want to change that negative image, unite women across the country and create a stronger bond of sisterhood and friendship that transcends the lines of race and ethnicity.

“This is the first time such a diverse group of women have teamed up to support this mission through this type of platform, says Brandi Záhria Mercado, founder of Saludance, a health and wellness organization combating obesity and diabetes through salsa dancing. “Our ultimate goal is to create a Your Sisterfriends chapter in every city we visit.”

The Day of Empowerment with Your Sisterfriends is a multi-city national tour. Proposed locations include: Atlanta, GA, Charleston, SC, Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, Cincinnati, OH, Cleveland, OH, Detroit, MI, Houston, TX, Indianapolis, IN, Los Angeles, CA, Pittsburgh, PA, St. Louis, MO, and Washington, D.C. While the official tour will begin November 2014 and schedule dates and cities through November 2015, the kick-off event will be held in Columbus, Ohio, August 16, 2014, at the historic Lincoln Theatre located at 769 E. Long Street.

“In the words of Congresswoman Joyce Beatty and her colleagues who recently launched a national effort to support the advancement of women, ‘When Women Succeed, America Succeeds,’ quotes The “Amazing” Tei Street, a national motivational speaker and trainer. “When more women are empowered and given the freedom to be who they really are and to live their best life, the entire world benefits!”

The Day of Empowerment is not your typical conference where women come to listen to people talk and take notes. The day is designed to be inspirational, interactive, informative and fun. The innovative concept features several mini-workshops, called “shots” (short and powerful), and

“Helping women to live out their passions and purpose can result in new ideas, new products, new businesses, a re-energized workforce, stronger family units, and so much more” says Tamara Hartley, speaker, success coach, and creator of the Your Sisterfriends brand.
