Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County to Highlight Achievements at STEAM Fair

MONTEREY, Calif. - July 29, 2014 - PRLog -- On July 31st, 2014, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC) will display Club members’ achievements at a STEAM fair in the Seaside and Salinas Clubhouses.  The fair is a culmination of the Clubs’ summer programing designed to prevent summer learning loss and keep kids on track to succeed in school.

The fair will feature projects focused on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), which includes member artwork, interactive games, Solar Suitcase demonstrations, and much more! Parents, educators, and community members are invited to attend the fair, enjoy light refreshments, and take tours of the Clubs.

About Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC) has played an integral role in the community for over 46 years.  BGCMC provides a safe haven for over 800 children and teens a day, offering programs that focus on Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character & Leadership. BGCMC operates Clubhouses in Seaside and Salinas, extension sites at El Sausal and La Paz Middle Schools, and a site at the CHISPA Sea Garden Community in Castroville.  Nearly 90% of the total budget comes from generous individuals, corporations and foundations.
