LOS ANGELES - July 3, 2014 - PRLog -- In the final week of June, the Hollywood Showcase summoned models, actors, singers and dancers from across the country to sunlit Los Angeles, California for a four-day intensive audition with dozens of Hollywood's top agents, managers and casting directors. The spectacle invited performers and their families to the Pacific to take part in an encompassing crash course of the entertainment industry. With everything from red carpet parties to industry professional-lead seminars, participants were volleyed through the iconic Millennium Biltmore Hotel from audition to audition, at each stop meeting and performing for wide-eyed managers and agents looking to make connections.

Showcase participants entered in a variety of categories wherein they perform for a panel of judges and talent agents. Acting events include: soap opera acting, monologue, sitcom, commercial (model and actor) and modeling events consist of: fashion runway, print modeling, trendy runway. For good measure, this year Showcase introduced entertainment lawyers to the field of events as to provide a full-circle approach to entertainment professions. The Talent Showcase offers agents and managers a chance to introduce themselves to participants in a grand finale of auditions, closed and open callbacks. The strength of the Showcase model rests in the face-to-face opportunities many out-of-town participants could not attain otherwise. Agent and Showcase panelist Karina Lewis of Wilhelmina Models Los Angeles complemented, “…the appeal of Showcase is that it’s a smaller scale, it’s more intimate… Showcase does a very good job, it individualizes everyone and it makes meeting them that much more personable.“

This year, Hollywood Showcase is proud to announce a grand total of 633 callbacks. The astounding statistic is due, in no small part, to the staff of Showcase coaches and teachers. Showcase is noting an impressive 2:1 ratio of callbacks to students.

The event featured a surprise performance by the boys of Forever In Your Mind, a pop-duo known for their appearance on X Factor Australia last year. Singers Ricky Garcia and Emery Kelly serenaded Showcase participants with a harmonious, three-song set amongst the final talent showcase of the weekend then stuck around for pictures and autographs before the awards ceremony. Participants mingled joyously with the up-and-coming vocal group, who were happy to discuss their recent tour as well as answer a few questions about breaking into the entertainment industry. Singer Ricky Garcia optimistically quipped, "If you have an opportunity to shine and show what you’ve got-- you have to take it right away. Take every moment like you might lose it." Showcase invited the boys of Forever In Your Mind not only to entertain but also to illustrate to youth talent exactly how tangible a career in the performing arts can be for someone their age.

While Hollywood Showcase focuses a great deal on success and industry knowhow, the company operates out the educational sector. Surely, many participants attend for the chance to meet prospective representation, however, many others utilize the Showcase community to develop self-confidence and assurance. This ideal is echoed by talent manger Mhair Zeitounian of Zero Gravity Management,

“It’s about getting to know yourself as an artist. So, a program that focuses on educating yourself as an artist is one that should be regarded.” Zeitounian, who is becoming a Hollywood Showcase regular, represents talent of all ages but is drawn to youth for their sense of whimsy. “I really liked seeing the kids having fun. That’s what it should be about. I like to see them have fun and [work in the entertainment industry] because they love to do it. I saw a lot of that this weekend,” said Atuni.

Of course, the event is not without its celebrated successes. In years passed, such talents have gone on to book work with AT&T, a Superbowl Kia commercial, Desperate Housewives, The Mindy Project on Fox, Back in the Game on ABC, Super Fun Night on ABC, Toyota commercial, Nikita, Hot Tub Time Machine, Several lifetime movies, Funny or Die, Samsung ads, An upcoming Seinfeld prequel called "Little Jerry", The Voice, American Idol, Vera Wang advertisements and fashion shows, "Haywire" with Channing Tatum, "Red Dawn" with Josh Peck and Chris Hemsworth and more.

The Hollywood Showcase meets bi-annually, auditions are already being held for the December conference.
