International Performing Arts Academy Debuts Industry Certified High School Curriculum

In lieu of failing traditional schools, IPAA presents alternative learning option for high school students working in the entertainment industry.

LOS ANGELES - April 8, 2014 - PRLog -- The International Performing Arts Academy announces the launch of their certified high school-level curriculum for teens. Students may begin classes as early as April, 2014 and IPAA already projects 1,000 new students in the 2014-2015 school year. Pricing and tuition estimate under what average parochial schools charge.

Teenagers who work on Disney and Nickelodeon television shows or movies are required to homeschool while on set, as an alternative to traditional full-time high school studies. IPAA is now implementing this same method for fulfilling high school requirements striving to make High school exciting by encouraging students to express themselves through performing while working in the entertainment industry.

Tried and tested, the on-set curriculum has been refined through teens working with national television networks. IPAA’s high school curriculum will feature online courses with on-location modeling, acting, singing and dancing intensives. Upon completion of their curriculum, students are offered the opportunity to perform at a Talent Showcase in Los Angeles bi-annually. The showcase invites 50 of the top licensed agents and managers in the field and includes a meet-and-greet with the industry professionals. The program culminates in a red carpet party and graduation dinner.

At a time when traditional, post-World War II, cookie cutter classrooms are losing state and federal funding across the country and many federally funded high schools are operating at 50% of their former capacities, IPAA strives to create positive artistic outlets for youth who may not otherwise be able to attend high school classes. The curriculum is tailored to the specific needs of today’s teenager. The performing arts academy reaches to exceed those needs with a program that circumvents traditional schooling and applies real-world experience with education hand-in-hand.

The dynamic program offers online classes wherein IPAA provides students with all the tools needed to complete educational requirements from their homes in conjunction with independent studies, on set tutoring and banking schools.

Additionally, IPAA students will have the choice to work behind the scenes with jobs like grip men, costume design, camera operators, photography, editing, etc.
