By: Sherman Lake YMCA On Saturday, August 2nd Sherman Lake YMCA will be filled with hundreds of athletes, spectators, and volunteers to cheer as the race begins at 7:45am. The Shermanator consists of three events -- sprint triathlon, duathlon and aquabike. The sprint triathlon (http://shermanatortri.org/ The Shermanator Triathlon is an annual event that raises funds for the Sherman Lake YMCA Annual Campaign for Scholarships. Financial Assistance for summer camp, school camp programs and YMCA memberships are provided to more than 5,000 kids and families annually. In 2013, the Shermanator raised nearly $20,000 towards this local financial assistance program, enabling community members to learn, grow and thrive. Anyone can help by simply participating in the Shermanator, acting as a volunteer, or contributing to scholarships.
