Introducing PD2000, the first Ultra-High Resolution Document Imaging System

EVESHAM, U.K. - June 26, 2014 - PRLog -- The PD2000 is a unique new imaging system capable of capturing exceptionally high quality images of documents under a selection of illumination wavebands for on-the-spot examination, database creation, or transfer via the internet to an experienced document examiner.

What differentiates the PD2000 from existing QDE workstations on the market, such as the Foster + Freeman VSC range, is the exceptionally high quality of image capture and the ‘one-click’ software solution that allows users to semi-automate the process of recording images under a selection of light sources before creating a new local database record or uploading the files for remote examination.

Remote document examination

Such is the clarity and resolution of images captured using the PD2000, it is possible to conduct a thorough examination of a document using onscreen images alone – Remote Document Examination.

Once document images have been captured, they can be transmitted to any remote location where an experienced document examiner, with an appropriate system, can select any of the images, zoom in and scroll around the image at any magnification and with no loss of resolution for closer examination.

A Document Database of Unrivalled Quality

Using the PD2000 to create a database of documents, storing high quality images alongside relevant data, is quick and easy thanks to the systems integrated database software.

Using the semi-automated mode of operation a PD2000 user can, with just one click, capture images under a user defined selection of illumination wavelengths, decode barcodes, and automatically capture, decode and store ICAO codes and MRZ data in the relevant database fields.

The fully integrated system includes a high quality digital camera, a selection of high intensity multi-spectral light sources, and a large touch screen PC.
