Follow on Google News | ICYS Ipswich Community Youth Service “gives ‘em a show” at Ipswich Little Theatre FundraiserICYS Ipswich Community Youth Service held a superbly successful theatre night fundraiser on Wednesday, 21 May 2014 where dedicated supporters and members of the community attended a special performance at Ipswich’s historic Incinerator Theatre. All funds raised from the event will be used to provide services and support to young people who access our service for assistance with homelessness, disengagement from education, poverty, barriers related to their disability, mental health concerns and more. The Ipswich Little Theatre company performed a double bill to the delight of all in attendance, while local musicians and businesses donated their talents, goods and services to create a wonderful evening. With attendees from local businesses and not for profits, the evening was a huge success, raising over $1,800 for ICYS’ Volunteer Program. ICYS promises this is only the first of many prodigious events to come over the next 12 months, as they have recently hired Fundraising and Communications Coordinator, Lynette Budd to assist in attracting much needed funds to ICYS’ programs. As a not-for-profit organisation ICYS relies on government funding and donations through fundraising to provide services to young people in Ipswich and the surrounding regions. At present, the funding climate is shifting and ICYS has seen a significant reduction in funding at the end of 2013, which has impacted on staffing numbers and the capacity they have to provide additional services in the community. ICYS would like to thank their major sponsor, Rosewood and District Community Bank® Branch of Bendigo Bank and all other event sponsors: The Good Guys Ipswich, Drakes Supermarkets Supa IGA Community Dollars, Glebe Rd Takeaway & Coffee House, Dan Murphy's Ipswich, Brothers Leagues Club Ipswich, Hoe Inn Food Bar, Coles Ipswich, Bob Jane T-Marts (Official) Ipswich, Harry Brown Ipswich, Jenny Murray - Party Lite Consultant, Raceview Bakery and Mrs K's Bakery - Winston Glades, without whom the evening would not have been possible.
