Radiation Oncology Associates Receives Prestigious Re-Accreditation

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - June 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Radiation Oncology Associates, P.C., a 21^st Century Oncology affiliate, is pleased to announce that the Fort Wayne, Ind. cancer center has earned re-accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR). This prestigious accreditation represents the highest level of quality and patient safety and is awarded based on rigorous, third party peer review and evaluation of patient care. The center first earned ACR accreditation in August 2011.

The ACR Committee for Radiation Oncology Practice Accreditation directs the program, designed to promote quality and education. The program includes an on site survey performed by Board Certified Radiation Oncologists and Board Certified Physicists. To receive the accreditation, practices are evaluated on their personnel, equipment, treatment planning and records, as well as patient safety policies and quality control activities.

As the nation’s oldest and most widely accepted accrediting body in radiation oncology, the ACR continues to adapt its standards to improve patient care.
