Chevrolet Impala Earns Top Collision Warning Safety Rating | McCarthy Chevrolet Olathe

May 29, 2014 - PRLog -- OLATHE, KANSAS—Chevrolet recently announced that the 2014 Chevy Impala was one of just eight vehicles to earn a top safety rating in a test of collision warning systems! In fact, the Impala was the only vehicle to earn that high rating that wasn’t a luxury model.

The test, issued by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), evaluated the safety of vehicles that came equipped with high-tech crash prevention systems including collision warning and automatic braking. The 2014 Chevrolet Impala earned the top rating of “Superior” in its test.

When the IIHS conducted its tests, vehicles were moving at 12 miles per hour and 25 miles per hour. The vehicles, including the Impala, that earned the “Superior” rating had brakes that slowed the vehicles to 2 or 3 miles per hour or less, preventing or reducing the impact of a collision.
