One Magical Weekend Announces Business Partnership To Honor Military Personnel Through OutServe/SLDN

ORLANDO, Fla. - May 26, 2014 - PRLog -- The team at One Magical Weekend, a premier LGBT event hosted in Orlando, FL has recently announced a business partnership to a special buy one/get one promotion for our military personnel through Outserve/SLDN.

The team at One Magical Weekend said, “We’re honored to be working with OutServe-Sldn.org, an association of actively-serving LGBT military personnel that launched on July 26, 2010.  With almost 5,000 members and 50 chapters worldwide, OutServe works to support a professional network of LGBT military personnel and create an environment of respect in the military with regard to sexual orientation and gender identity.”

OutServe worked publicly for the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," as well as behind the scenes with the Pentagon and the Obama White House. Jonathan Hopkins, a 2001 West Point graduate and highly-decorated veteran of three combat tours, serves as OutServe spokesperson since he was discharged under DADT.  "We still have a lot of work to do, but our troops deserve a celebration for all they have sacrificed - especially LGBT troops who have borne the additional burden of hiding their lives," said Hopkins. "We thank One Magical Weekend for recognizing their service."

One Magical Weekend brings together more than 6,000 of your LGBT brothers and sisters June 6-8, 2014, for three Main Event events only at Walt Disney World® Resorts. First  is “Riptide @ Disney's Typhoon Lagoon” on Friday, June 6, 2014, from 7 pm – 2am.
