Stuart Kane Partner, Eve Brackmann, Receives LACBA Award

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - May 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Stuart Kane is proud to announce Partner, Eve Brackmann, will receive the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) Real Property Section Outstanding Young Lawyer Award for 2014. The 16th Annual Real Property Section Installation and Awards Dinner will take place on Thursday, May 29 at the InterContinental Los Angeles to honor Brackmann and the other award recipients for excellence in real property law.

I am grateful to my partners, clients and colleagues for their confidence in me, and truly appreciate the opportunity to be among the exceptional group of lawyers being recognized this year,” stated Brackmann.

Brackmann is a partner at Stuart Kane LLP, handling commercial disputes in California and federal court, specializing in real estate litigation and trials. With a background in large-firm business litigation, she has honed her practice to focus on real estate matters such as shopping center disputes, boundary and easement disputes, development-related matters, commercial unlawful detainer, assessment appeals and complex commercial construction-defect litigation. Her clients include business owners, shopping center and other commercial property owners and developers, private investors, mortgage companies, banks, grocery companies, a national defense contractor and an international private jet company. Brackmann has also served as an arbitrator, and as a judge for a California Indian tribe.

In addition to her litigation practice, Brackmann has a stellar record on appeal. Of her many successful appeals, one included a brief in the U.S. Supreme Court, and two were published opinions on issues of first impression.

During the course of her career, Brackmann has remained actively involved in our legal, business, and philanthropic communities. She currently serves as a Director on the statewide Board of the Conference of California Bar Associations (CCBA). Part of her role with CCBA is to lobby in Sacramento for increased court funding. She previously served for two years as president of the Foundation Board of Project HOPE School. This year she serves as co-chair for the March of Dimes Chef’s Night fundraiser.

Having received numerous awards throughout her career, Brackmann most recently was named as a 2013 Super Lawyers Rising Star and was included on Los Angeles Magazine’s 2013 list of Top Women Attorneys. This year, she is also a nominee for the Orange County Business Journal’s Twentieth Anniversary Women in Business Awards, honoring the exceptional business and professional women of Orange County.

Brackmann received her law degree from the University of San Diego and B.A. in Biology and Philosophy from the University of Southern California.  In her spare time, she competes in triathlons and teaches a meditation class at a local wellness clinic.
