With Boorer's genius rock and alternative punk sensibilities and energetic guidance as producer, Wong and Browne forged the beginnings of a new arsenal of steel-hearted songs. Wong was classically trained in piano from the age of 6. She achieved honors in the Music Teachers’ Association of California’s Certificate of Merit course level 8 and passed the Royal School of Music level 6. Her father bought her a Walkman around the age of 9 and the likes of The Cure, Depeche Mode, Love and Rockets, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and other religiously influential music artists infused her blood with a prescriptive blend of British and American rebellion. She was lucky to find the world of theatre in her teens as a healthy outlet for her other-worldly angst, practicing her craft as a writer, director, lighting designer and technical director for the University of California, Santa Cruz’s Women’s Ensemble Theatre and studying at East West Players’ Summer and Winter Conservatories. She played a feature role (academic decathlon member "Mary") in director Justin Lin's breakout MTV Films production, Better Luck Tomorrow. She stage managed, assistant directed, and associate produced for Los Angeles' Lodestone Theatre Ensemble's stage production of the musical The Mikado Project (adapted from the controversial Gilbert & Sullivan classic The Mikado by Ken Narasaki and Dorie Baizley), directed by Chil Kong. Wong also acted in Euripides’ The Trojan Women(with Emily Kuroda, best known as Mrs. Kim on Gilmore Girls), directed by Alberto Isaac. With some experience in performance and production under her belt, Wong is ecstatic to finally join her passion for language and music under the Surely Lorraine project. She will be joining Boorer again in the studio this summer to record a new album.
