New Kickstarter Project: 12 Original Games, Beautiful Art, and Your Caricature on a Playing Card

SEATTLE - May 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Isn't it time to update the old classic with a new classic? Mesa is a post-modern deck of playing cards. Instead of the generic medieval Kings, Queens and Jacks; instead of the faceless masses belonging to one of four kingdoms and identified by numbers, the Mesa cards consist of unique individuals with unique talents. One group of those individuals consists of imaginary, fantastic creatures (the standard Mesa deck); another group consists of caricatures made from real people like you (the Mesa Grown-ups deck).

The Kickstarter campaign for the Mesa decks of cards that just launched and will run through to June 15, allows backers to pledge for a number of rewards. One of those rewards includes having your caricature made into a Mesa playing card. Now, players can not only play the Mesa games, but be part of the Mesa universe.

But regarless of whether you choose to be part of that universe or not, you can play the 12 original games designed for the Mesa cards with either the Standard Mesa deck of cards or the Grown-ups Mesa deck of cards. These games include "Playground Wars", "Heroic Dreams", "Revolution", "Power of Love", "Save the Baby", "Mesa Puzzled", "Mesa Patterned", "Great Escape", "TowerBuildingBabel", "Guilty and Not-guilty", "Election Day" and "MeSadoku".

The Mesa cards were created for Konokopia by the artist/designer Maciek Jozefowicz. The cards are designed to offer a variety of game experiences, from traditional battle-like games like "Playground Wars" and "Revolution" to card puzzles like "Mesa Puzzled" and "Mesa Patterned". There is even a sudoku-like game, "MeSadoku", which can be played by a single player  like a solitaire or by multiple-players.

In addition to the Mesa decks of cards, there are also three custom Mesa dice that are designed to complement the cards and expand the game possibilities. The dice can be played with the cards or they can played without them.
