-- HOLLY SPRINGS – On Saturday May 3rd, the Kiwanis Club of Holly Springs will again join with the community and Holly Springs’ schools to recognize its Terrific Kids and Terrific Teachers. “Terrific”
is an acronym for Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive and Capable. The program will begin at 3:15 p.m. at Sugg Farm Park during the 2:00–4:30 p.m. 12th Annual Kids Appreciation Day (KA Day) celebration. Holly Springs’ Elementary and Middle schools have submitted their nominations. Chick-fil-A will be the host of an after event reception for Terrific Kids, Terrific Teachers and their families.
Also in the program that day will be a the pledge of allegiance and song by Primrose School at West Lake children, a performance by Holly Springs School of Dance, and the very popular “Friends of Youth” raffle. Music will be provided by DJ Baldy. Mayor Dick Sears will lead the program. KA Day is presented by the Kiwanis Club of Holly Springs, Holly Springs Parks and Recreation, and Kiwanis corporate members Winifred Bernard/USANA Independent Associate, Loving Lessons/Irene Gouge/Pediatric Sleep Consultant, Edward Jones, Challenge Island and Mark Luke/Berkshire Hathaway Home Services. To-date this year’s major co-sponsors include Signature Family Dentistry, Fritz and Bovenizer Orthodontics, Chick-fil-A, PSNC Energy, Sign Edge, F&M Entertainment, NY Pizza, and Pelican’s SnoBalls. KA Day, the Kiwanis Club of Holly Springs' annual fundraiser, is open to the public and free to children. Additional tickets for the Friends of Youth raffle and refreshments will be sold at the event.
