Going Global Fair Trade boutique has announced they are now exclusively operating online offering the best in Eco-friendly, up-cycled and fair trade items ethically imported from Co-Ops across the globe.

KEMPTVILLE, Ontario - April 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Unique items made by remarkable people and sourced in a way that's both ethical and Eco-friendly.  That's what the Going Global Fair Trade Boutique (http://www.goinglobal.ca/) has based their business model on and the results have been inspiring.  With artists from all over the world, including places like Nepal, Tunisia, Ghana and Indonesia, to name a few, the boutique has shown buying things like great jewelry and art can also help make the world a better place.

Recently, Going Global Fair Trade has announced they have begun selling exclusively online after operating a retail store for some time. The emphasis on finding the best items for the boutique and maintaining their first class customer service will continue as they transition from a brick and mortar store to a web based operation.

“We would like to thank all our loyal customers for supporting us, and we would like to let them know we will continue to support and practice fair trade principles and ideas,”  commented a spokesperson from the company.  “We're confident that there's going to be plenty of excitement about what we're offering at our online store.”

Fair trade is a social movement with a focus on helping make sure producers in developing countries are able to operate under more favorable trade conditions in ways that are more sustainable.  Some of the principles of fair trade include: creating opportunities for disadvantaged workers; to ensure all workers are paid a fair and livable wage; that workers work in safe conditions; that there is no child labor and a commitment to gender equality and empowerment of female workers.

Going Global Fair Trade is proud to only work with co-ops and fair trade organizations when sourcing and importing the items they sell.  This gives customers the peace of mind they are shopping in a way that's completely socially conscious.

Jewelry, kitchen, fashion items like scarves and purses, household items and even skin care products are all available from the online shop.  The combination of quality and affordable prices make the store quite unique in its category.

Local response to the close of Going Global's retail store has been spirited.

D. Jones, a customer of the store recently said in a letter to the  North Greenville Times, “It should be with great regret and despair that our community bids goodbye to yet another of our unique independent businesses. 'Going Global', bravely operated by a young couple who ventured into fair trade and fair prices with home decor and gifts that meant something,”  Jones continued, “This, however, is the day of the big box store, with cheap and predictable merchandise, couple with the unforgiving rising costs of rent and utilities (beware homeowners our turn is next!) So, I personally bid farewell to two fine young people...  Carry on being good and good luck!”

Going Global Fair Trade will certainly carry on.  All signs are pointing toward a bright future for the boutique as their project to provide remarkable items in a way that makes the world a better places, wins more loyal customers and makes deeper connections world-wide.
