Chariti Home Plants “Seeds of Promise” in The Community

Hosts 5th annual luncheon and silent auction to generate support for its outreach programs
BELLEVILLE, Ill. - April 16, 2014 - PRLog -- The mission of Chariti Home is to change lives of young mothers and their children for generations to come by providing a safe home, education, parenting skills, life skills, and connect them to available community resources.  On Saturday April 26th, , the  organization will hold its 5th Annual  Seeds of Promise Luncheon and Silent Auction featuring special guest, author Toni L. Coleman Carter.  The event will be held at Fischer’s Restaurant 2100 West Main Street.

Founded by Teresa Johnson, The first Chariti Home Seeds of Promise Luncheon was held in 2010 as a means of communicating the mission and vision.   Johnson recently spoke about her motivation for creating Chariti Home. “As a former teen mom myself, I knew all too well these challenges. So, I wanted the communities we served to see the positive outcomes/accomplishments that could happen when these young mothers are given the proper circumstances”.

About Guest Speaker Toni L. Coleman Carter:

For more than two decades, Author Toni L. Coleman Carter hid the scars of physical and sexual abuse, valwy the shame of an attempted suicide, the challenges of being a teen mother, and the granite obstacles of climbing the corporate ladder.  Her ability to overcome those setbacks formed the basis for When Trouble Finds You (RTC Publishing).  A work dedicated to increasing awareness around issues impacting children, while inspiring the human spirit.   Since the book’s release Carter has been touring and spreading her message of hope across the country.
