IP2Location.com released new IP geolocation extension for Chrome browser

SARASOTA, Fla. - April 16, 2014 - PRLog -- IP2Location.com, the widely acknowledged leader and pioneer in IP geolocation, is happy to introduce a new extension for our loyal users who use the Chrome browser for their daily dose of surfing.

Previously, our users would have to navigate to our IP2Location.com website for IP geolocation information. We realized that we can help make your lives more productive by bringing IP geolocation to your browser, in a manner of speaking. From this goal, we have produced a Chrome extension which is easy to use but packed with useful features.

You can download the extension by browsing http://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ip2location-ip-geolocatio/hkccjlilianihdjogdpflgmeegaomloj in your Chrome browser and clicking on the Install button.

Once you have installed this extension, you can just move your mouse over any links in a webpage and a tiny icon will appear. If you want to retrieve the IP geolocation data for the webserver, just click on the tiny icon. After you have clicked on the icon, the extension will display the geolocation information in a small and neat popup box inside the webpage itself.

It is really that simple to use and you never have to leave your webpage. You can also click on the map icon to view the location of the city in Google Maps.

We have also thrown in 3 advanced features that we think could come in handy for our more tech-savvy users. These are the abilities to ping that server, do a traceroute to the server as well as view the URL from a different geographical viewpoint via our global networks of proxy servers.

To access these features, you just move your mouse to the bottom right of the popup box over the “[More Tools >>]” and you will see a menu for the 3 features.
