New San Antonio Brewery Attempting To Break Brewer Stereotypes
Branchline Brewing Company, along with San Antonio's newest brewery, San Antonio Brewing Company, tapping limited-edition collaboration beer to raise awareness of women in the craft beer industry.
San Antonio Brewing Company’s founder and head brewer, Vera Deckard, was invited to participate in Pink Boots Society’s International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day (IWCB) on March 8th, 2014. The Pink Boots Society, a professional women brewers society, created International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day to raise the awareness of women in the brewing industry and encourage more women to be an active part of the craft beer industry.
Jointly, Mrs. Deckard and Branchline Brewing Company’s assistant brewer, Nicholas (Nick) Adcock, brewed ten (10) gallons of this limited edition pale ale at the Branchline Brewing Company location in early March. “Unite” Pale Ale is a session ale with a unique combination of malts and hops that creates a beautiful balance of sweetness and bitterness into every glass. Sales from “Unite” Pale Ale will benefit Pink Boots Society and the San Antonio Cerveceros.
“Not only have the Cerveceros been crucial in supporting me with the San Antonio Brewing Company venture, but if you look, you will see them out and about, teaching all things beer, supporting local breweries and creating a great awareness of craft beer in the community,” stated Mrs. Deckard.

“I was honored to be asked by the Pink Boots Society to collaborate in an event that was created to raise the awareness of women in the brewing industry,” added Mrs. Deckard. “I was one of two brewsters out of Texas to participate, and I’m hopeful that there will be many more next year.”
