KENT, Ohio - April 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Kent State University student Rebecca Dingus received the 2014 AMA Sales Special Interest Group (SIG) Dissertation Award on Feb. 22 in Orlando, Fla.  Dingus was one of two recipients recognized at the 2014 AMA Winter Educators Conference for her dissertation proposal focusing on professional management and selling.

Dingus’ dissertation proposal “Recognizing Uncertainty And Managing Appropriately: How Sales Managers Should Do It,” was chosen amongst a board of marketing and sales scholars. Both of the award recipients received a cash prize of $1,500 sponsored by the University Sales Center Alliance, along with an engraved glass plaque.

“This award is nice recognition for doctoral students who are doing research in sales to get their idea out to the greater academic community” Dingus said.

Dingus has also received the Doctoral Fellow Research Paper Award at the 2013 National Conference in Sales Management. She is the only doctoral student from Kent State University’s College of Business Administration to be awarded the University Fellowship Award this year.

“It’s a great day for her and for Kent State,” said Dingus advisor, Michael Y. Hu, Ph.D.

Hu said Dingus receiving the national award from AMA is further confirmation of her accomplishments.  Additionally, it confirms the quality of the Ph.D. program, and the support she has received here at Kent State University.

Dingus began her Ph.D. program in August 2010 with a focus in marketing, and she expects to graduate in May 2014. She will continue her career as an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Central Michigan University in August 2014.
