Windy City Gay Chorus and Aria Women's Chorus Present "It Gets Better: The Concert"

CHICAGO - March 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Courage. Hope. Trust. Life... Love. Inspired by what the It Gets Better™ Project did for LGBT youth, Windy City Gay Chorus and Aria Women's Chorus proudly present "It Gets Better: The Concert", under the direction of Paul Caldwell, Artistic Director.

We've all faced obstacles growing up, but LGBT youth face even greater challenges -- from relentless bullying from other kids to abandonment and alienation by their own families in all too many instances. "It Gets Better: The Concert" is a musical testament to the power of song to move hearts and change minds, and to show us all how love and happiness can be a reality in our lives. With the support of openly gay and lesbian adults, mentors and straight allies, there is always hope for a positive future that's strong, beautiful, and powerful—no matter where you call home or whatever your age.

The concert features the premier of "You Are Beautiful" (Vwy Prekrassny), a new choral work by Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory, that will be the framework for a music video offering support for the LGBT community in Russia from youth to adults, as they struggle to find hope and live their lives openly even in the face of legislated oppression.

"It Gets Better: The Concert" is a journey of inspiring music and stories presented to remind us all that we are not alone, we are beautiful just the way we are, and that life will—and does get better!

"It Gets Better: The Concert" featuring Windy City Gay Chorus and Aria Women's Chorus will be performed Saturday, March 22 at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 1650 W. Foster Ave. in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. General admission tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at windycitysings.org (http://www.windycitysings.org/). Discounted tickets for Seniors ($15) or Students and Children ($10) are available only at the box office.
