Bahia Principe inaugures a new "Cenote" with the help of Eco-Bahia

March 18, 2014 - PRLog -- On the 15^th of February, Grand Bahia Principe Coba celebrated the launch of its new Cenote Dxonot Be with an opening ceremony. The new ecological area is called Cenote Dxonot Be, or Secret Road to the Cenote, and is designed for guests to discover the natural flora and fauna of the region. With hidden pathways, tranquil benches, and a variety of native plants, guests can relax and unwind in nature. Orchids and other “Chicozapote,” or native plants, can be found throughout Bahia Principe’s new Cenote, echoing the magnificent nature found in the Riviera Maya (http://www.bahia-principe.com/en/offers/riviera-maya-resorts).

During the opening ceremony, an indigenous Mayan rite was performed. A shaman arrived to go through the traditional ritual. The shaman blessed the area, and went through the protection ritual, asking Mother Nature to watch over the newly established Cenote area. In attendance was Ignacio Subias, the General Manager of Bahia Principe Riviera Maya. Mr. Subias was joined by Alberto Selas, Director of Common Services, and Katia Courdourier, the Director of the Ecological Foundation Bahia. The representatives of Bahia Principe were pleased to be a part of the unveiling of the Cenote, as a place for guests to be in a natural setting and relax.
