Will Alive with Clive’s New Best Song Contest Fill The Void Left By The X Factor?
Now that Fox has cancelled The X Factor in the U.S. and Simon Cowell has returned to the U.K. to judge The X Factor there, Alive with Clive’s New Best Song Contest -- with prizes for singer-songwriters and viewers -- is moving in to fill the void

Alive with Clive – Where Today’s Top Singer-Songwriters Thrive! differs from the other song contest TV shows in that singer-songwriters on Alive with Clive, like guests on Bravo's Emmy award-winning TV series, Inside the Actors Studio with James Lipton, are given an exclusive half-hour interview or two during which they perform three or four of their own original songs. Over 115 singer-songwriters who’ve been featured on Alive with Clive since August 22, 2011, now have the opportunity to receive votes in Phase One of the Contest to be one of 14 to move into Phase Two, and the Best Song will be the one selected by viewers in the show that generates the most contest entries in Phase Two.
“Talent for Alive with Clive is drawn from the same pool that provides performers for American Idol, The X Factor and The Voice,” says Clive Swersky, Host and Producer of Alive with Clive, “so as more fans of American Idol, The X Factor and The Voice and others watch Alive with Clive, they're soon likely to realize that Alive with Clive provides another wonderful opportunity to discover, connect with and be inspired by singer-songwriters they will love.”
To encourage fans of American Idol, The X Factor and The Voice and others to enter The 1st Alive with Clive Quest for the Best Song Contest, Alive with Clive is offering ten cash and four in-kind sponsors the chance to provide a total of 14 prizes each worth at least $300 for an entrant who watches only one of the 14 shows during the 14 weeks of Phase Two, while entrants who watch all 14 shows will be eligible to win a car or a 6-night/7-day stay at a resort with return flights included.
In addition, the singer-songwriter who generates the most entries in the Contest will win $6,000 in cash and $6,000 in music equipment and/or music-related services. Furthermore, charities that encourage supporters to enter the Contest will receive $10 per entry from Alive with Clive for the first 1,000 entries, and possibly $10 per entry from sponsors for entries in excess of 1,000.
There are over 490 clips from Alive with Clive on The Alive with Clive TV Channel on YouTube, and they have been seen over 101,000 times. Furthermore, a top singer-songwriter is featured every week at http://alivewithclive.tv on This Week on Alive with Clive, which is now being made available on Vimeo.
While the singer-songwriter with the Best Song will go on to enjoy the prestige and recognition of being The Winner of The 1st Alive with Clive Quest for the Best Song Contest, since the Contest is taking place over more than three months it provides sponsors and singer-songwriters in the Contest with the opportunity to benefit from the broad-ranging efforts of Alive with Clive to promote the Contest online and in other media, and efforts of the singer-songwriters in the Contest to generate votes from their fans on Facebook, Twitter, their Web sites and Blogs, as well as at their gigs.
Singer-songwriter, Sara Nelms, a recent guest on Alive with Clive, is proving to be a prodigious vote-getter in Phase One and now tops the Leaderboard, which is posted on the Home Page at http://alivewithclive.tv.
