CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - March 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Applied Video Imaging, a provider of rugged video products for airborne, ground, and marine surveillance missions, introduced its new D1700 series of rugged multifunction displays.  With full 1920x1080 HD resolution, 16.7M colors, high-contrast, and high-brightness, the D1700 series provides impressive image clarity.   The light-weight unit (3.54 Kg,7.8 lbs) has a small footprint of only 419mm x 282mm x 34mm (16.5” x 11.1” x 1.3”) yet supports a large 17.3” diagonal viewing area.

The D1701 features innovative AR coated full cover Gorilla® glass with Projective Capacitive (PCAP) function controls, direct sunlight readability, 3G-SDI input and output, and many other outstanding features and options.

Enclosed in a unique heat dissipating and water-tight aluminum 6061 enclosure, the display provides up to four 3G-SDI inputs with up to four 3G-SDI loop-through outputs.  Standard or customized button icons provide direct operator functional control for video input selection, brightness control, Day/Night/NVGS mode control, or control of other AVI products such as Quad Processors, Video Switches, and Recorders.  Optional features include dual LED NVGS compatible operation, full PCAP touchscreen, LCD heater, and Portrait Mode operation.

Designed to DO-160 standards, AVI’s rugged 17.3” multifunction displays accepts 9 – 36 volts DC power.  RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, USB, and Ethernet input and output controls are standard.  The display is designed for use in airborne, ground, and marine law enforcement and defense surveillance applications. Based on SMPTE industry standards, it can be used with any SDI video source.
