| Adelphi University Presents David Hornung: Recent PaintingsAn exhibition of work by Adelphi University Professor David Hornung
Author of the book Color: a workshop for artists and designers, Hornung’s background as a color theorist informs much of his work. Every day objects have become an inherent part of the artist’s vocabulary, due to their timeless, and familiar nature. Hornung constructs his paintings to produce ambiguous narratives that aim to simultaneously elucidate intellectual, and emotional resonances. David Hornung has taught painting, drawing, and color at a number of art schools and universities including Indiana University, Parsons, Pratt, Skidmore College, Brooklyn College, and the Rhode Island School of Design. He currently teaches in the Department of Art and Art History at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. The Ruth S. Harley University Center Gallery is open everyday, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. To learn more about the artists and view glimpses of the exhibition please visit: Our website: http://art-galleries.adelphi.edu/ Like us on our ‘Adelphi University Galleries’ Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/ Follow us on our blog: http://adelphiartgalleries.weebly.com/ OR find us on Twitter: @AUGalleries (http://www.twitter.com/ About Adelphi University (http://www.adelphi.edu/) End
