DAE Invitational Drives New Experiences For Members
In collaboration with Lake Edge and Lakeside Villas timeshare resorts, Taupo Golf Club and Lake Taupo tourism operators, the 5-round, 9 hole friendly tournament will bring likeminded timeshare owners together for a week of fun competition in one of the most scenic destinations in the world.
Business Development Manager for DAE Australia and New Zealand, Gary Fog, said DAE is focused on providing more unique experiences for timeshare owners to enjoy with their DAE membership.
“The DAE Invitational Golf Classic will be the first event of its kind and we hope it’s something that becomes a regular fixture in future years,” said Mr Fog.
“By introducing this style of competition week we are giving people a reason to travel – combining a great value exchange week in an idyllic location, with an activity they enjoy.”
Steve Giles, Club Manager of Taupo Golf Club, said, “As New Zealand’s only golf club offering four distinct 9 hole courses on the one site we are wrapped to be working alongside DAE in hosting Taupo’s first ever 45 hole Golf Classic.
“Similar to the way in which 20/20 cricket has changed the cricketing environment, 9 hole golf is beginning to revolutionise the golfing industry.
“We look forward to welcoming the large nationwide and international contingent of golfers to the Taupo region this coming May.”
Rick Martin, Chairman of Lake Edge Resort in Taupo said creating new ways to add value to owners’ holiday weeks was important to both the Resorts and DAE – with the idea of a golf tournament taking flight.
“The shorter format of a 9 hole tournament allows all those staying in Taupo for the week to enjoy many of the other activities the region has to offer,” said Mr Martin.
Recently named Best Overall Company with under 250 employees at the 2014 Perspective Magazine Awards, DAE has impressed the industry with their innovative and flexible style of holiday exchange.
“We are always looking outside the box for ways to continue improving the overall value proposition of timeshare – for both consumers and industry,” said Mr Fog.
“Through events such as our annual golf week, we are enhancing exposure, in this instance, of the Taupo region, as well as supporting the surrounding industry – from resorts and clubs to local tour operators.”
