Follow on Google News | Dialogue with Three Chords kicks off the New Year with plays of love, magic and Rock and RollDialogue with Three Chords (D3C) starts their 2014 year of performances off with three new short plays where characters search for love and inspiration.
By: Dialogue with Three Chords “Last season, I gradually introduced supernatural elements to the plays and laid the ground work for characters finding love,” Gracia remarks while explaining his writing process for this new group of plays in the ongoing narrative of ‘Shipyard Souls & A Compass Rose’. In what he feels serves as “the midpoint of the story,” Gracia further explained that this fourth installment of work was “the best place” to bring previous themes of love and the supernatural “to the forefront and establish the relationships and central mythology that will drive the rest of the season.” “All Things Being Equal, The Worst Is Bound To Happen” continues the journey of four unlikely friends traveling to San Francisco in the early 1970’s for various and deeply personal reasons. “The First City Named For A Boy” takes us to Brooklyn in the roaring twenties. The setting is a familiar bar, peopled with gods and monsters both. “Odd Bits Of Wisdom” finds us in that same bar in the mid 1940’s as two friends try their hands at magic to determine their next step.
