| ![]() Hexmag Begins Production of High Capacity 30-Round AR15 Magazine in ColoradoBy: Hexmag In contrast to the highly military-inspired approach to product design employed by most of its competitors, Hexmag is a consumer oriented brand, focusing on meeting the needs of sport shooters and local law enforcement agencies. “Hexmag has spent a great deal of time and effort on fit and finish, our customer base wants both a functional product and one that looks good” said Mr. Schefter one of the Hexmag founders. Hexmag’s patent pending magazine design includes the proprietary HexID Color Identification System. The HexID color system allows users to mark their magazines for different types of ammunition using bright colored followers and latch plates. The standard Hexmag magazine comes with the “Hexmag Orange” as standard. Additional colors are Zombie Green, Panther Pink, Blackout Black, Hazard Yellow, Nimbus Blue, and Lava Red. One potential customer in Nevada said he was tired of using nail polish to mark his magazines; this idea of changing colors on the magazine both top and bottom was a unique solution. Another interested customer said “I would use the colored plates to stop my family from using my expensive ammo. My son takes my ammo all the time. It’s impossible to tell from a quick glance what ammo is loaded and who the magazine belongs to.” Despite a challenging environment for the firearms industry in Colorado – which has recently seen a well-known manufacturer vow to leave the state – Hexmag is committed to maintaining business and production operations in Colorado. Mr. Brown the president of Hexmag stated “We live here, our children go to school here, and there is no reason to abandon the state because of a temporary moment of insanity in Colorado politics.” While current Colorado state law precludes Hexmag from selling its 30-round magazine within the state. Hexmag products will be sold to national, regional and local firearms dealers through select firearms distributors. Hexmag representatives recently attended the Shot Show in Las Vegas to meet with distributors, retailers and firearms manufacturers. Both the brand and the products were well-received. “It’s clearly a different approach to a product that was perceived as functional, they are taping a market that was largely ignored” said one AR15 rifle manufacturer. Hexmag was founded in early 2013 in Loveland, Colorado and is a manufacturer of high-quality firearms accessories. To learn more about Hexmag, please visit www.hexmag.com End
