La Serenissima-The Taste of Southern Ocean Hunger Relief benefit illuminated by Italian Elegance

SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - Feb. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- City of Canals, City of Bridges, the Floating City, so many names that capture the beauty of Venice. Within this romantic paradise are flavorful dishes that have inspired chefs for centuries. April 9, Sea Oaks Country Club will be transformed to Venetian splendor as local chefs offer multiple courses that will do more than please the palate. Co Chairs of the event Dan Taylor of the Anderson Agency and Ian Smith of Ocean County Vo Tech Culinary Arts program, the dedicated volunteer committee comprised of local businesspeople, regional chefs and sponsors have raised $550,000 for hunger relief since the tradition of this dinner began in 1995

The 19th Annual Taste Dinner, is centered around food, the purpose of this community event is to raise money through ticket sales, auctions and donations to fund local food pantries that include Barnegat Food Pantry, St Francis Center, The Lacey Food Bank, Tuckerton Area Inter Church Food Pantry, Ocean Community Church Food Ministry, St Stephens Episcopal Church Food Pantry, St Mary’s Church Ken Kitchen and King of Kings Community Church. The 2013 Taste Dinner raised $80000, with each of the above organizations receiving a check for $10000. .

“An Evening in Venice” begins at 530pm April 9 at Sea Oaks Country Club in Little Egg Harbor. Tickets are $125 per person and are on sale at Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce.
