Scheduled for Thursday, February 20th, 2014, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, this workshop will cover a wide array of marketing topics, all in bite-sized information pieces, designed to appeal to the needs of Hawai‘i-based small business owners. Topics include an explanation of realistic obstacles that may come with small business marketing, an easy to understand explanation of what public relations is and how it relates to your business, easy to implement public relations techniques, and advice specifically for Hawai’i’s small businesses. The Hawai‘i Small Business Development Center established in 1990, provides professional business consulting, research and training to business owners and new entrepreneurs in order to promote growth, innovation, productivity and management improvement. To accomplish these objectives, they link federal, state and local resources, the educational community and the private sector to meet the needs of Hawai‘i’s businesses. A New York City native, Blake Harvey has always understood the importance of finding your voice in a crowd of millions. At 20 years old, he founded Lawrence Blake Group Int’l., a New York-based independent corporate communications and public relations firm. In his free time, Blake commits himself to raising awareness on the importance of arts education for youth in America’s public schools. Lawrence Blake Ventures, the philanthropic arm of Lawrence Blake Group Int’l., extends pro-bono communications counsel to rising artists, and produces public events throughout the United States that benefit young artists and nonprofit organizations who provide arts education programs to public schools.
