MOnsterworks66 and Apple-Bomb Productions Team Up to Produce Peirce Stern's "The Note"

Hollywood has a newly optioned screenwriter, and his name is Peirce Stern.

LOS ANGELES - Jan. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Stern’s thriller, The Note, was inspired by true events, and this hard-to-put-down tale of murder and mystery at an exclusive college intrigued Maria Olsen of MOnsterworks66 and Rachel Appelbaum of Apple-bomb Productions to such an extent that they agreed to join forces and option the property.

The Note promises layer upon layer of intrigue and is a sophisticated yarn that tells of a group of friends who, while struggling to come to terms with the fact that several of their peers have committed suicide, realize that they may, in fact, be targeted by a serial killer.

With fierce twists and turns, The Note is guaranteed to deliver, and, although not exactly a horror, it will have enough gore on display to please fans of that much-loved genre.

Stern is a prolific traveler and has several feature length scripts to his credit. This is, however, the first script that he’s had optioned, although it’s certain not to be his last.

Appelbaum is, perhaps, most well known for her work as a film critic on the weekly movie review show Just Seen It which airs nationallyon PBS. She has hosted no less than 38 episodes of this super-cool series that can also be found on such diverse sites as Blip.TV, Apple iTunes and moviereviews.com.  She has recently started working with TMI Hollywood, a sketch show out of The Second City – the world’s premier comedy club – that’s broadcast live every week.

Appelbaum has also worked with Olsen on numerous projects including the MO66 feature co-production, Faraway – just out of post-production – and the short film Cassandra’s Left Hand.  They are also both on the production team for the in-pre-production feature LoveTouchHate. Their most significant collaboration to date, however, has been on Christopher Dye’s Something Sinister, currently in post-production, where Olsen co-produces, Appelbaum is an Associate Producer and both star (although Appelbaum carries the film with her powerful performance in the leading role of troubled teen Amelia).

It’s a standing joke that Olsen can be found under most rocks in Hollywood, and notable appearances include Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Die-ner (Get It?) - aka Kentucky Fried Zombie - Vile, Folklore and The Haunting of Whaley House.  She can also be seen in the following features that will soon grace the big – or little – screen: Lost Time, The Conduit and Another. Her company MOnsterworks66 has been extremely busy over the past two years, and producing credits include features Live-In Fear, Way Down in Chinatown, Our Zombie Mother and the short film Life is a Lottery, which is presently on the festival circuit.

There’s no doubt that the combination of Appelbaum and Olsen will bring enough experience to the plate to make The Note notable.

The Note is presently anticipated to have a late 2014 / early 2015 release date.
