Good Hands Placement Specialist Becomes Certified Senior Advisor

PEORIA, Ariz. - Dec. 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Good Hands Placement Agency, is pleased to announce that Lorie Ann Miller, senior placement specialist, has earned her certified senior advisor status, becoming a member of the Society of Certified Senior Advisors.

Ms. Miller joined Good Hands in September 2013.  In the relatively new field of elder locators, Good Hands Placement is one of the more experienced elder placement companies having served in the Phoenix area since 2005.  They  help families with loved ones, who can no longer live at home, locate the most suitable assisted living options.

Adding to her services as a senior placement specialist, Ms. Miller has expanded her value by becoming a certified senior advisor.

"A certified senior advisor is trained to be the go-to resource person for seniors," says Miller. "Much like a primary care physician assesses their patient, and then refers them to a specialist when needed, the CSA assesses the needs of their senior client and provides the resources and referrals for them to be helped in a variety of issues important to them," says Miller.

Whether it is housing, finances, health care, insurance, or social issues, the CSA has the resources or will find the resources to help the senior, referring them on to an expert when needed.

Ms. Miller currently serves as the REST outreach volunteer respite training coordinator, for the Arizona Caregiver Coalition.  She left the Sunshine Group, a local volunteer senior service group for homebound adults, which she founded and organized in 2010.

"There are so many seniors who have so much to give and others who need help," says Miller.  "I just saw the need and tried to fill it.  I saw some seniors who were retired and still had so much to give.  I also saw homebound adults who were isolated and lonely and needed visits.  It just seemed natural to put the two together," Miller says regarding the Sunshine Group.
