Teresa is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Limited Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Wayne State University and post master specializations in Child & Adolescent Counseling and Couples & Family Counseling from Oakland University. In addition she has a medical degree from the National University of Mexico at Mexico City. She has additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Model and Imago therapy. Teresa’s professional interests include family’s issues, depression, anxiety, infidelity, life transitions, parenting, relocation, infertility, perinatal mood disorders, trauma and grief and loss. Her own experience of relocation required adjustment to a new life that added personal experience to her professional perspective. It helped her better understand life transitions, its struggles and rewards and also highlighted the importance of getting the right support during these critical times.
