Former Prosecutor Sees Growing Success in Second Year of Solo Practice

Elizabeth Hunt Has Established Herself as a Premiere Defense Attorney in State College, Pennsylvania.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Dec. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- STATE COLLEGE, PA, 12/5/13 - There was not a big ground-breaking ceremony when Hunt Law officially opened its doors in downtown State College, Pennsylvania in the summer of 2012. In fact, Attorney Elizabeth Hunt did not even have to move her desk, as she was taking over the office of a law group she had co-founded with another defense attorney. Their business together was taking off, but each attorney needed more space to operate, so the lawyers split up and Elizabeth set out to establish herself as one of the most trusted and respected criminal defense lawyers in State College.

Though she is now a seasoned attorney with an expanding law firm, it was not all that long ago that Ms. Hunt was earning her law degree from nearby Penn State Dickinson School of Law. Her youthful appearance belies her experience and expertise but anyone who has seen her in court knows she means business. Actually, she has been well-known in Centre County court for quite some time now, as she began her career on the other side of the aisle as an Assistant District Attorney for Centre County. Elizabeth says that her experience as a prosecutor has provided her with a great deal of knowledge that better enables her to defend her clients.

Working in her office in State College, which is only one block from the Penn State University campus, many of Attorney Hunt’s clients are students, recent graduates, and local residents. Elizabeth thinks that her clients likely hire her because they are comfortable with her presence and her approach, which does not involve unnecessarily scaring someone (or his or her parents) in order to get a large retainer. This does not mean that Ms. Hunt gives her clients unrealistic expectations, but rather provides a realistic plan of action that can ensure the best possible result.

She defends clients dealing with all sorts of summary, misdemeanor, and felony charges, such as underage drinking, DUI, drug charges, assault, sex crimes, theft, traffic violations, and more. Although she uses her experience with previous cases to determine how to approach a legal defense, Ms. Hunt explains that each person’s case is unique and all the facts surrounding it need to be investigated to find holes in the prosecution’s arguments and evidence, and not all attorneys are created equal in this regard. It is often the ingenious thinking of a dedicated and determined lawyer that is able to get someone’s case dismissed and his or her name cleared.

One of the most important keys to Elizabeth’s success is her reputation, as clients will often refer their family, friends, and classmates to her if they get into trouble. A reputation is something that evolves over time with repeated success, fair business practices, and strong personal relationships. Ms. Hunt hopes that her reputation not only serves to expand her criminal defense firm, but also serves as an example and inspiration to young women that they can achieve success in a field that is often dominated by men.  Just ask anyone who has seen her in action; Attorney Elizabeth Hunt is one of the toughest lawyers around.
