By: SISCOG The event, organised by COTEC Portugal, a business association for innovation sponsored by the President of Portugal, promotes companies from various industries who stand out for their innovation culture and practice, and help build a stronger and more dynamic business environment. These are companies that have maintained highly competitive standards in a particularly demanding context and are thriving in spite of the economic crisis, accomplishing solid results and effectively generating wealth and employment in their geographical regions. “It is a great honour to receive this distinction considering it is in recognition of SISCOG’s ongoing performance” says João Pavão Martins, SISCOG’s CEO. He adds “our growth and prosperity are the result of the same characteristics COTEC acknowledges, namely our innovative spirit and openness to change”. Member of the COTEC SME Innovation Network since 2006, this is the second time SISCOG is recognized by the organisation, the first of which was in 2010 with the “Innovative Product” award for its CREWS Real-time Dispatcher, a tool used by international railways that allows to quickly solve personnel dispatching issues on the day of operation. About SISCOG Tens of thousands of people in different European countries have their daily work planned and managed by SISCOG´s systems. Founded in 1986, SISCOG is a Portuguese software company that provides decision support systems for optimised resource planning and management, using a combination of Artificial Intelligence and Operational Research technologies. It currently offers three products: ONTIME (timetables) Amongst its customers are renowned companies, such as the Dutch, Finnish, Danish and Norwegian railways, the Suburban Trains of Copenhagen and the London and Lisbon Metro. SISCOG has a team of about 120 people and ended the 2012 fiscal year with a turnover around € 6.700.000.
