SISCOG receives an Innovation Award

LISBON, Portugal - Dec. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- SISCOG, the software company specialized in solutions for the optimised planning and management of resources in transportation companies, received an Honourable Mention as an Innovative Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) during the 10^th COTEC Innovation Meeting.

The event, organised by COTEC Portugal, a business association for innovation sponsored by the President of Portugal, promotes companies from various industries who stand out for their innovation culture and practice, and help build a stronger and more dynamic business environment. These are companies that have maintained highly competitive standards in a particularly demanding context and are thriving in spite of the economic crisis, accomplishing solid results and effectively generating wealth and employment in their geographical regions.

“It is a great honour to receive this distinction considering it is in recognition of SISCOG’s ongoing performance” says João Pavão Martins, SISCOG’s CEO. He adds “our growth and prosperity are the result of the same characteristics COTEC acknowledges, namely our innovative spirit and openness to change”.

Member of the COTEC SME Innovation Network since 2006, this is the second time SISCOG is recognized by the organisation, the first of which was in 2010 with the “Innovative Product” award for its CREWS Real-time Dispatcher, a tool used by international railways that allows to quickly solve personnel dispatching issues on the day of operation.

SISCOG was awarded in 1997, 2003 and 2012 with the innovation award by the “Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence”, the world’s most prestigious scientific organization in its field, and received in 2006 the merit award from the “Computerworld Honour Program”. In 2010 its CREWS Real-time Dispatcher product received an Honorable Mention at “COTEC-Unicer Innovation Product” Awards.  Due to its innovative character and for being an example of value creation for the country, SISCOG is member of the COTEC SME Innovation Network since 2006, and obtained in the last 3 years the SME Leader and SME Excellence statutes. SISCOG is certified in Quality (NP EN ISO 9001), and in Management of Research, Development and Innovation (NP EN 4457:2007).
