Using The Disavow Tool Though Not Penalized, Experts Agree

ESSEX, Ontario - Nov. 28, 2013 - PRLog -- A lot of discussions appeared when Google introduced its link disavow tool regarding its use even if a certain website’s not punishable. There were even some people who made blacklists of what they thought were low quality sites linking to a lot of sites and they would submit them to Google to disavow them.

However, there were no agreement whatsoever if webmasters would need to do something with the disavow tool if they didn’t have a need for it or they would just let it there and use it if warned. The good thing was that Matt Cutts, the ever popular Google engineer discussed this tool and touched on the topic regarding its use as prophylactic move.

Cutts said that if the webmaster has finished every method in getting unnecessary links like the ones with low quality and coming from poor SEO methods, that’s where the disavow tool should be used. “You can also use the tool if you think that you have identified any suspicious or low-quality backlinks,” Matt Cutts said. “That’s if you believe that these links might hurt you.”

"If you are at all worried about someone trying to do negative SEO or it looks like there's some weird bot that's building up a bunch of links to your site and you have no idea where it came from, that's the perfect time to use disavow as well," he (Cutts) continued, "I wouldn't worry about going ahead and disavowing links even if you don't have a message in your webmaster console."

“With those words coming from them (Google), it seems like they want us to really take a closer look at our backlink profiles,” says Frank Fihn from http://a1backlinks.com/. “This could be one good way to determine their direction with regards to SEO.”
