Log&Roll: logging platform to combine logs from different sources

HAARLEM, Netherlands - Nov. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- CodeBuffet launched it's newest service called “Log&Roll” for developers, as a new tool to debug your web sites and applications.

Log&Roll is a cross-platform logging service that can grab logs from different sources, including your iPhone and the website of your app and even your backend server. Those logs will then be displayed on the web page in a global, timeline-like view, to allow debugging various aspects of your project from a single place.

“It's just unbelievable”, says Peter Willemsen, the founder of both CodeBuffet and Log&Roll. “I started working on this service as a private project, to fix some complex bugs I had. After a while, I found out that it worked so good that I decided to polish it and share it with the rest of the world.”

Users can sign up on the website and add their project, after the installation of the SDK, they can start logging.

Logs start with a group-like tag, like “Web Request”, followed by the log message. Every log with “Web Request” as tag will be displayed in a column, same goes for other tags.

“It's especially good when you have rather big projects, think about social networks, apps with servers and lots of users with lots of different devices”, he continued.

“Imagine a world where you never have to look at 3 different screens for logs. Finding bugs will be so easy & fun, you want things to go wrong!”
