ELBURN, Ill. - Nov. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Bob Jass Chevy, your Elburn-area Chevy dealership, is excited to announce the official unveiling of the second generation 2015 Chevy Colorado. The model was last seen at dealerships in 2012 and has since undergone a careful redesign. New models promise better fuel economy, more power, modern features, and increased versatility.

The 2015 Colorado is capable for use as a work truck and was engineered to the same standards that went into the newly redesigned 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500. In comparison to that model, the Colorado will weigh around 900 pounds less. Chevy anticipates the model will feature best-in-class fuel economy.

In terms of engine options, there will be two available to start. Base models begin with a 2.5L four-cylinder that should deliver around 193 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque (the SAE has not officially rated these models yet). For drivers looking to get more power and capability, there will also be a 3.6L V6 engine. These should be capable of about 302 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, allowing these Colorado models to tow up to 6700 pounds.

A surprise engine was also announced, but it won’t be available right away. Chevy plans to release a diesel powertrain option for the 2016 Chevy Colorado. It will be a 2.8L four-cylinder turbodiesel Duramax. No power output has been released for this engine, but it should offer drivers sizable torque along with impressive fuel economy.

Additionally, drivers will have two body styles to pick from: an Extended Cab or a Crew Cab. The Extended option comes mated to a six-foot bed in the back while the Crew Cab receives a smaller five-foot option. To go along with the three body styles, there will be three trims. There’s the basic work trim without the rear seats, the higher-end LT, and top-of-the-line Z71 trim. These last two will be available with modern features like an eight-inch touchscreen and the latest version of the Chevy MyLink infotainment system.

Drivers can look for the vehicle to arrive at Bob Jass Chevrolet next year. To learn more about the upcoming Colorado, drivers can contact Bob Jass online or by calling (630) 448-9020.
