Queen Of Carolina Hip-Hop, Recording Artist & Entertainer Shelly B Announces Official Retirement

Nov. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Beginning 2014, female hip hop recording artist Shelly B aka Hollywood Shellz officially retires from rap no longer working professionally in the music industry as a recording artist. She is in preparation for an expanded career path in entertainment. As Shelly transitions from her popular hip hop tagline “The Queen of the Carolinas”, she heads into 2014 with the scheduled release of her new media company and nurturing other talents that will allow her to expand her brand to an extended U.S region.With an extensive documented background in music as one of the fastest growing independent urban female recording artists in the U.S. Southeast, Shelly B is prepared to embrace a new path in media and entertainment with confidence that she has left her mark on Hip Hop.

Born and raised in Raleigh NC, Shelly B’s evolution as an artist has been closely followed by Hip Hop fans across the nation since the tender age of 17. Her efforts and many accomplishments have broken barriers of gender perception in hip hop and shed light on the misperceived abilities of Female rap recording artists. Shelly B has since paved the way for other small market male and female recording artists to excel and reach new heights. Her recognition in highly respected media publications from The Source to VIBE Magazine, notorious work ethic, performance and authentic lyrical talent have resulted in 12 regional and independent urban awards wins, and over 22 nominations. One of her greatest accomplishments is winning NYC’s Underground Music Awards [UMA’s] 2011 Female Artist of the Year. In addition to the various music project releases that have continued to set trends and define an expanded lane for the female mc, Shelly B stood tall for the Carolina music market and impacted the regions hip hop culture and community on many levels. Shelly B has succeeded at formulating a movement through her active community outreach programs, media personality experiences, regional journalism, spokes modeling, event promoting and hosting. For many, her storied achievements serve as a representation of leadership for the independent music circuit and to the history of hip hop music.
