Heather Scott announces her candidacy for District 1 State Representative

PRIEST RIVER, Idaho - Oct. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Heather Scott of Blanchard, Idaho, is announcing her intentions to run for District 1 State Representative. A fifteen-year resident of north Idaho, Heather believes her straight forward, honest no-nonsense approach to politics will find favor with the voters. She wants voters to have the choice of a small- government candidate in May.

Her diverse work history has included simultaneous careers as an aquatic biologist and a local small business owner/farmer while also serving as President of God’s Provision Thrift Store in Priest River.   While a relative new comer to politics, Heather believes these endeavors have provided her a firsthand understanding of issues that are important to District 1 residents.   Although she strongly believes the current trend towards big government is stifling the freedoms of American families, she is still hopeful for the future of this State.  Heather believes if voters are willing to make tough choices to reduce federal dependency, Idaho can once again be a strong independent leader among western states.

Heather currently serves as the Spirit Valley Precinct Committeeman for the Bonner County Republican Central Committee.  She has also been active in local school and land rights issues as well as educating residents on potential consequences related to Idaho’s new state healthcare exchange.

Heather plans to introduce herself to the residents of District 1 by visiting north Idaho communities and hosting dessert potlucks.  These community events will give residents an opportunity to discuss local issues as well as be informed on what is happening at the state level with our current north Idaho legislators.  She also plans to discuss how the Affordable Care Act, gun laws, and state sovereignty issues will affect you personally.  She plans to listen to issues affecting the immediate area, give people hope and introduce a plan of action for moving forward.  “We will also eat lots of desserts” Heather added.
