WELLINGTON, Fla. - Oct. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Did you know that before dressing first lady Michelle Obama, Designer Jason Wu got his start designing dresses for dolls, including dolls manufactured by the Madame Alexander Doll Company?   Jason Wu is not the only designer to start off small, and make a big fashion splash!

Meet Robin Fleming, a South Florida gown designer for the 90th Anniversary Miss America limited edition Cissy doll by Madame Alexander Doll Company.   In 2011, as a Official Sponsor of Miss America Organization, Fleming decided to approach the Madame Alexander Doll Company about producing a limited edition doll to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the Miss America Organization.

Collaborating with the venerable doll company, Fleming came up with the uniquely exquisite “mini” gala gown designed especially for the collectible 10-inch Cissy doll, including the miniature to-scale accessories of Miss America crown, banner and traditional bouquet of red roses.   Fleming’s background as a gown designer, and fashion stylist, proved her perfect for the pint-size fashion challenge.

Fleming, whose gowns from her special occasion retail store, LA CASA HERMOSA of Wellington, have been featured on the Today Show, Fox News, TLC, MTV: Made, Bridalplasty and the Palm Beach Post, among others, had a life size version of the Madame Alexander doll’s dress made to measure.   The results were a gorgeous ‘look like my doll’ gown made in vibrant royal blue silk dupioni embellished with Swarovski crystal stars and featuring a wrapped pleated strapless bodice.

Miss America 2011 Theresa Scanlan premiered the dress alongside the commemorative doll at the Madame Alexander booth during the International Toy Fair in NYC, and will wear it throughout her reign as Miss America, whenever promoting the 90th Anniversary Miss America Limited Edition Doll.

The limited edition doll featuring scale replicas of Miss America's signature crown, sash and bouquet of roses, are for sale exclusively at LA CASA HERMOSA of Wellington, online at http://www.LaCasaHermosa.com.
