Buddy Guy Will Headline the 25th Annual Shaw’s Oyster Fest

Oct. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- This year, a huge headlining performance by blues legend Buddy Guy will mark an exciting addition to the oysters and seafood galore that mark the 25^th Annual Oyster Fest Chicago (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/chicago-festivals/5358-shaws-25th-annual-oyster-fest-chicago.html). Friday, October 18 will mark the return of the annual Oyster Fest Block Party at Shaw’s Crab House, located at the corner of Rush Street and Illinois Street, where the fun will begin at 3 p.m. and last until 10 p.m.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and long time Chicago blues legend, Buddy Guy (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/celebrity-concierge/3837-celebrity-concierge-blues-legend-buddy-guy.html), will be headlining the event, in addition to a list of fellow live music performers which include Million Dollar Quartet at 3 p.m., Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the 13 year old guitar prodigy Quinn Sullivan from 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The stage will be taken over by Buddy Guy around 8 p.m.

Tickets to the Festival

There is a $30 entry fee for this annual Chicago oyster bash, with a portion of the proceeds going to Shedd Aquarium (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/attractions/5126-unique...) and the Special Olympics. The entry fee allows for access to boat loads of fresh oysters and other delightful seafood favorites served up by Shaw’s Crab House, and rinsed down with cold Goose Island brews.

As would be expected, oysters of every kind made it on the menu. Guests of the Chicago Oyster Fest can choose from oysters on the half-shell, oyster po’boys, smoked oysters, and more. Other delicious plates like the king crab bites, fish and chips, fish tacos, clam chowder, jambalaya, and Maine lobster rolls prove equally tempting.
