Sage Embedded Development Tools And DIY x86 Gizmo Board To Be Featured At October RTECC Workshops

Sage Electronic Engineering will lead an informative hands-on session where embedded developers can try out the Sage EDK graphical interface, Sage SmartProbe® JTAG probe, and GizmoSphere DIY Gizmo board at free RTECC events in So. California.

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. - Oct. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Embedded developers are invited to attend information packed training sessions showcasing GizmoSphere hardware and Sage software development tools at upcoming free RTECC events. The workshop, called “Hands-on Lab: Sage Presents The New GizmoSphere Open Source Embedded Development Environment,” shows developers how to leverage the Gizmo development board plus Sage’s development tools, along with open source resources, to streamline the design process.

The workshops are presented by Sage Electronic Engineering, bootloader solution specialists and creators of sophisticated embedded development tools, at RTECC (Real-Time & Embedded Computing Conference) venues in San Diego and Orange counties:

Tuesday October 15, La Jolla, CA, 10:00 - 11:15 AM

Thursday October 17, Garden Grove, CA, 10:00 - 11:15 AM

Embedded developers will be introduced to one of the most open source x86 DIY boards available today, the Gizmo board. Powered by the AMD Embedded G-Series APU, the Gizmo development board boasts an impressive 52.8 GFLOPS of performance capacity for the power of a supercomputer delivered through a compact 4" x 4" PCB. The board is part of a comprehensive kit called the Gizmo Explorer Kit made available by GizmoSphere, an open source initiative that posts schematics and design documents for unrestricted use, making the AMD-based Gizmo a truly open source hardware and software platform.

As a GizmoSphere founding partner, Sage played a key role in designing Gizmo. In addition, with each Gizmo Explorer Kit sold, Sage donates the SmartProbe® with limited-time use and a Sage EDK trial period to give developers a feel for what these powerful development tools can do (a one-year license is available for those who wish to purchase it, offered at a significant discount through GizmoSphere.org).

Register at http://rtecc.com/events/ to receive a guest pass to one of these two free RTECC events, enabling you to participate in the GizmoSphere workshop and other insightful technical sessions. In addition, AMD Embedded – also a GizmoSphere founding partner – will be present at the events, along with Texas Multicore Technologies (TMT) and Timesys, which are GizmoSphere partners. Stop by AMD’s table where Sage representatives will be happy to talk with you about Sage products and services, GizmoSphere details, and custom-built open source solutions.
