Secure Electrans receives prestigious award from International Security Accreditation Community

ELLESMERE PORT, U.K. - Sept. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Secure Electrans’ HomePay™ received another significant international accolade at this year’s International Common Criteria Conference (ICCC) held in Orlando, Florida. Managing Director Chris Jarman accepted the certificate on behalf of the company at a ceremony held after the second day of the 3-day conference. The recognition from the international security community highlights Secure Electrans’ outstanding achievement in obtaining HomePay’s™ successful Financial Industry and European accreditations earlier this year. The global recognition for HomePay™ will enable Secure Electrans to deploy in the countries that form the Common Criteria forum.

The Conference, now in its 14^th year, was developed to support the Common Criteria Certification. The Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation scheme was developed by the governments of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany and the Netherlands in order devise a unified and consistent framework for the evaluation and assurance IT Security. In doing so, the governments aim to increase transparency and raise standards whilst mitigating cross-border barriers to market for new IT Security products. India has also announced that they will be joining this week, bringing the total number of member countries to 26.

Speakers and delegates included certifiers, evaluators, testers and regulators from the UK (CESG/GCHQ), USA (NSA), Germany (BSI), Sweden (FMV/CSEC), Canada (EWA/CSEC), China (Ministry of Public Security) and Japan (IPA) alongside major corporates such as Cisco Systems, Microsoft and IBM.
