Missing Music Returns After 30 Years; Kickstarter campaign for Mose Jones 1980 album!

Kickstarter campaign to fund 70's Southern Rock band Mose Jones' unreleased 1980's album of amazing songs and awesome music; a project now titled "Lost / Found"!

ATLANTA - Sept. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- A Kickstarter campaign (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/stevemcray/lost-found-cd-release-of-1980-mose-jones-album)  is currently being staged by Steve McRay and Marvin Taylor, two former members of the Southern Rock band Mose Jones, to release their never released 1980's album; a project they now title “Lost / Found”. The albums tapes were stored and presumed lost or even destroyed, but fortunately the tapes were found in vaults, a phone call was made, and the tapes returned to Steve McRay, who had the tapes baked and transferred to digital. Now these amazing songs and this quality music needs finances - to assure the release of the project, which will be released as a physical CD with digital downloads along with several bonus tracks.

The record company stated that Mose Jones' last RCA album, 4th album since the band's inception, was never released because there was “no single” to release from the album. Although in 1981, the Atlanta Rhythm Section recorded and released one of the songs off this album, “ALIEN”. Released as a single off their Quinella album (Columbia), the song Alien went to #29 in the Billboard charts and #16 in the Adult Contemporary charts, thus becoming a full fledged top 40 hit song!

“We are excited and passionate about this project and committed to raising the funds needed to secure it's release” said Steve McRay, who spearheaded the Kickstarter campaign. With well produced co-written songs by Buddy Buie (producer) and Mose Jones members, co-produced/engineered by Tad Bush, the music on this album, which was recorded at famed Studio One in Doraville, GA, sizzles in all it's analog fatness, compared to the all digital recordings of today.

The funding goal is set at $5000 – just enough funds to release the project and still maintain the quality the album richly deserves. Funding money will be used for all studio costs (transferring, mixing, mastering), pressing of the physical CD (replication, packaging, shipping cost), art work and design (graphics, web design, packaging), and other costs associated with Kickstarter campaign.

As of today (9-13-13) we have 17 days left to fund this project, which began August 31st and ends October 1st, 2013. The way Kickstarter works, it's an "ALL or NOTHING" campaign, which means you have to reach your goal! If the campaign doesn't reach the funding goal, you get nothing; the campaign was a failure, and everyone keeps their pledges. If you do reach and even surpass your goal, the pledges turn into contributions and the project is a funded success. And the release of “Lost / Found” will be fulfilled!

This "Labor of Love" campaign is being dedicated to those Mose Jones' (http://www.facebook.com/Remember.MoseJones) members and friends no longer with us: Randy Lewis, Jimmy O'Neill, and Bryan Cole, as well as Tad Bush (co-producer/engineer) and Chuck Fowler (former stage tech). As well, the Mose Jones band (http://www.mosejones.com) was created in 1972 and disbanded forever in 1980. With this last project, Mose Jones' 4th album “Lost / Found”, the release of this CD and bonus songs would place this bands last recorded music in the hands of the friends and fans who are currently supporting us with their donations, and as well, finally fulfill the “Legacy” of this 70's Southern Rock band...the way it should have been 30 years ago!

The new Mose Jones CD project will be released on the Big Coffee Record label.
