How to choose a laser pointer?

Sept. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- There are so many different types of laser pointers,  as a new beginner, one must be puzzled about how to choose them. Here, I have below suggestions from color, output power, size, price for you to learn.

1.Color. Because of different wavelength, there are 5 main colors laser pointers, they are blue violet laser pointer(405nm), blue laser pointer(445,460,473nm), green laser pointer(532nm), red laser pointer(635,650nm) and Infrared laser pointer(808,980,1064nm).They are all visible except infrared laser pointer.
Green laser pointer  is most used, as it is the most visible to human's eyes.It can be used in many fields, such as star-pointing.It is much more convenient when a fabulous green line pointing at the star directly, all people around can see the object without using gesture.
Red laser pointer is always used for indoor meeting, like class-teaching.
So, choose your favourite color.

2.Output Power. mW is the abbreviation of milliwatt.The higher of mW, the more power of laser pointer. For normal use, 1~5mW is enough, like stargazing, lecture, school teaching, business conference, issuing rescue signal, construction,mining fields, and medical teaching etc.
Once the output power is more than 5mW, one should have some protective action, like wearing laser safety goggles.

1.Wearing a pair of goggles when operating laser pointer.
2. Don't shine it to eyes, mirrors or any other reflected objects.
3. Leave it from Children.
4. Don't point at animals, aircrafts, cars etc moving things.
