WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. - Aug. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Breaking Ranks to Return to School

The commitment, expense and lifestyle impact assumed by an older adult who decides to return to school is praiseworthy. A 2012 study by National Student Clearinghouse found that almost 40 percent of all students enrolled at four-year colleges over the age of 25. Even more amazing is that among students over 40, almost a third were attending school full-time.  These are people on a mission. When the economy tanked in 2009 more people believed a degree would lead to better paying jobs, career advancement, and boost credentials among employers cutting staff.

Income is DIRECTLY tied to education level. People possessing only a high school degree earn almost 40% less than people with a college degree. Over a lifetime, that’s over a million dollars more into the pockets of the degreed worker.  So going to college continues to be the smartest option for anyone looking to earn a decent wage. But going back to finish can pose problems at with the job.
