Energy Efficiency Tips to Save You Money This Sizzling Summer

The report, commissioned by the Energy Saving Trust Foundation in conjunction with key partners, has many recommendations for householders which could deliver savings to UK households.

These include washing clothes at 30°c instead of 50 or 60; only filling the kettle with the amount of water you need - overfilling costs us £68 million each year, showering for a shorter amount of time and using dishwashers at full capacity rather than half loads or washing up by hand. By just showering for a minute less and using the kettle more wisely could save Britons £283 million each year!

"But by showering a little less and not filling the kettle to the brim every time they want a cuppa, additional savings to their energy bills could be realised as well as being more energy responsible."
