Adam Har and Guy Projects Participates in Irrigation Project in the Senegal Basin

GIVATAIM, Israel - Aug. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Adam Har and Guy Projects delivered its final analysis to the management of the Irrigation Project in the Senegal River Basin. The analysis is based on data collected by thermal imaging technologies mounted on a comptercam.

The sources of the Senegal River are located in Guinea and in the South-West parts of Mali. The Senegal River basin covers 1.6% of the African continent and spreads over four countries: Guinea, Mali, Mauritania and Senegal. Guinea leads as the wettest country with an average annual rainfall in the basin area of between 1120mm and 2100mm. The driest country is Mauritania with just between 55mm and 600mm of annual rain.

One of the main issues in the region is limited irrigation possibilites due to topography. However, recent research has shown the irrigation potential is far from being met. Adam Har and Guy Projects participated in a project meant to locate and utilize new areas with irrigation potential. Thanks to the advanced technological solutions and equipment, an additional 3000 Hectares with irrigation potential were located in Senegal.

Adam Har and Guy Projects used advanced thermal imaging camera technologies to detect and locate the additional irrigation potential areas. The thermal camera was mounted on a coptercam in order to cover the entire area in a cost-effective way.
